Le recours au patrimoine, modèle culturel pour le territoire ?
Résumé
L’engouement actuel pour le patrimoine incite à approfondir cette notion largement mobilisée dans le cadre des diagnostics de territoire. Si l’appartenance au territoire relève de la représentation, de l’identité culturelle, l’intérêt se porte également sur le rôle joué par le patrimoine dans la construction territoriale. A travers une lecture générale des projets et actions à dominante patrimoniale, on peut dégager un certain nombre de configurations-types qui permettent de définir les organisations spatiales privilégiées. Le recours au patrimoine dans la phase de diagnostic de territoire permet d’interroger la dimension culturelle des constructions territoriales. Agit-il comme un fédérateur des intérêts locaux, un mobilisateur des initiatives, ou plus profondément comme la manifestation d’une capacité à construire du territoire et à créer du lien social par l’expression collective ?
The current interest in heritage and the frequent use of this concept in territorial evaluation suggests the usefulness of exploring further this idea. If belonging to a territory relates in part to a question of cultural identity, the role of heritage in territorial construction also merits attention. By looking at various heritage projects, spatial models can be defined enabling the definition of specific forms of spatial organisation. Reference to heritage in the process of territorial evaluation allows the question of the role of the cultural dimension in territorial construction to be considered. Does it act as a federative influence of local interests, mobilising initiatives, or in a more profound manner as a manifestation of the capacity to create a territory and social ties through collective expression ?
